After a few politicians questioned Jay Z and Beyonce’s trip to Cuba, Jay decided he would respond. And no, not with a press conference…in the studio. “Open Letter” has been playing all over the radio since this morning and Jay wants us to know a few things…
1. Politicians need to have several seats with their talks of crimes and fines
2. He loves Cubans (cigars I’m sure)
3. He’s got White House Clearance…well, sorta
4. Cuba…China…same thing?
5. He’s rich…very rich
Ok, that’s all for now, but I’m sure there will be more. The song caused such a stir, the White House has already been asked about whether President Obama provided clearance for the couple’s trip. Well, there was permission, but it was from the Department of Treasury.
I could be wrong, but I think there are far more important things to discuss at a press conference.
Anyway, producer Swizz Beatz let it slip that there will be plenty more music from Jay Z to come. We’ll see how much of it lands in an White House press conference…I’m just sayin!
