So network TLC’s “Starter Wives Confidential” aired a few episodes. You may be asking…what show is this? Well, clearly there’s no reason to wonder because it was canceled ALREADY! Supposedly, it was going to feature ex-wives and girlfriends of Lamar Odom, 50 cent, DJ Funkmaster Flex, and others of that artist and ball player lifestyle.
Anyway, 50 cent tweeted an apology to the cast of “Starter Wives” for having the show pulled from the network. He hopes they find work… Ladies and Gents, this is a classic READ! (see definition below) But in all seriousness, the show was canceled due to poor ratings. The remaining episodes are available on the network’s website (just in case you’re wondering). I’ll pass on this one.
Lesson: When someone “READS” …they are doing more than “throwing shade” or “trying it” which is more subtle and leaves more to the imagination. However, a READ is straight to the point. Here’s a little more detail…an artist hitting the last top note and dropping the mic (or other dramatic finish), a boxer with the last shot TKO, or the “YO MAMA” joke that leaves all the bystanders with the “DAAANG, those are fighting words”. There you go: READ. Try using it in a sentence today…I’m just sayin
Clive Davis has a released a memoir called “The Soundtrack of My Life” and it seems to be rubbing at least one star the wrong way. On his business relationship with American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, he stated that they didn’t always see eye to eye ESPECIALLY regarding some of her biggest hits. Kelly responded saying that he must have his stories and songs confused. I think Kelly tried it right there…the man is 80 years old! She said, “growing up is awesome because you learn you do not have to cower to anyone… not even Clive Davis. “ The shade of it all!
Clive Davis appeared on Wendy Williams and responded to Kelly’s statement saying that their memories seem to be different but he stands by his memory. It seemed like he was pinpointing that he was the one that gave her hit songs at a time when writers and producers were not investing in American Idol because of the stigma. He went on to praise her for her talent anyway. Keep it classy!
And then it got a little too personal…Clive went on to talk about his sexuality. After his second marriage, he met a man and opened his mind to the possibility that he could have a meaningful relationship with a man. He states that he is bisexual and currently in a loving relationship with a man. This is all too much for me…I’m just sayin.

So there’s no need to ask whether I watched Beyonce’s documentary. It would be like asking…is the sky blue. I went into moocher mode and found my nearest friend’s house because again…PREMIUM CHANNELS ARE NOT IN MY BUDGET.
Anyway, the only critique I have of the entire documentary…why is the camera so close?! I mean really?! It was very “Paranormal Activity” with the shifting of her eyes and the distortion of her head. It was…weird but I’m sure she thought it was artistic.
Moving on, I was impressed that she talked about so many rumors that have been swirling regarding her relationship with her father and her pregnancy.
To see her working was great…to see her face light up when she talked about Jay Z or Baby Blue was a nice personal touch as well. Between the Oprah special and the documentary, there seemed to be a few things Bey wanted us to gain:
Women are powerful creatures in that we are able to give birth but also run the board room and have meaningful and loving personal relationships.
Balance and growth are her lifelong struggles and goals
She loves her husband and her baby…and whoever that chick was in “Resentment” better KNOW THAT and STAY AWAY! Whew…I felt that emotion in my SOUL! I’m just sayin
What were your thoughts about “Life Is But A Dream”?
When I was a kid, you couldn’t tell me that I wasn’t the long lost member of TLC. I had the low alto/tenor voice like T-Boz, wore my braids like Chilli in the “Creep” video (yes, the pigtails), and I made sure I knew all of Left Eye’s rhymes. Well, VH1 did not consider me in their casting for the groups upcoming biopic (scheduled to begin production this year).
Rumors are flying that KeKe Palmer will be cast as Chilli, Lil Mama as Left Eye, and Drew Sidora as T-Boz. I suppose this will do if you want that younger look (yes, I’m in my feelings).
Not only has Keke Palmer been in a few Tyler Perry films, she blew up on her own show with Nickelodeon. She moved on to a singing career and other greatness at a young age. Lil Mama had a huge hit a few years back (“LipGloss”) and has struggled to remain relevant since then. She is probably most known as a judge for America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC) on MTV which had a good run before it was canceled. Drew Sidora was on The Game (before BET took it over) playing an R&B artist that was also a homewrecker.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the project and I will keep you posted about any updates.
Did I mention that my very first CD single was “Creep”? And that I can help with choreography? I’m just sayin!
